Hello All!! I apologize this is so late. I had some technical difficulties with the website, but I am back :)
My nephew Jake turned Two May 1st. He loves Thomas the train. Leah did a wonderful job with the decorations as always.
She got water bottle labels that were custom made for the party, how adorable!
I made the cake. It was yellow on bottom, and my new fav chocolate with chocolate chips in the middle for the top layer. Covered in buttercream. Thomas is made out of rice krispies covered in fondant.
Jake is my number one fan :)
It was a great party! I will leave you with a pic of Jake and I. Thanks for looking!

pop, Pop, POP!
A girl asked me to make something for her mom. Her mom had a kidney transplant 20 years ago. I am not one for making anatomy cakes. So I decided to make friendly, happy kidneys :) Angie from Bakerella also had a transplant not too long ago and make some cute pops. http://www.bakerella.com/yipee/ I thought they would be perfect for her mom as well!
It was a yellow cake. I decided to spice it up a little with a tag. My girlfriend, Kasey, wrote out the sayings for me. She has such pretty writing, me not so much.
I had some leftover cake and decided to make some more pops. It is my Aunt Heidi's birthday tomorrow. I made her flower pot pops. The bottom is the cake. The top flower is candy melts.
I also made some plain flower pops to use up the rest of the chocolate. I used a flower cookie cutter to make the shape.
That's it for now.

Choco-licious!
Easter weekend is finally here!! I have given up chocolate for Lent this year. So, I made myself some desserts for making it through 40 days :)

From the front this guy looks okay....
He's a trauma patient!
I hope you all had a great Easter!!
Thanks for looking :)
I first made a Smore's Dip. It was real easy. I tried the Philadelphia Chocolate Indulgence for this recipe. You combine Cool whip with Marshmallow Cream and layer with the chocolate. I used bite size graham crackers for the dippers. Paul really liked it.
I decided to make a cake for myself :) It was a chocolate cake, buttercream with chocolate chips filling, buttercream frosting and chocolate ganache on top.
I really liked the chips in the middle, it was a great added bonus! I am going to have to start doing that more often.
I had some cake left over to make cake pops. I made little chicks for Easter.
I let Paul decorate a few of them :)From the front this guy looks okay....

Team Edward
I went to a Twilight-Breaking Dawn Part 1 party this weekend. It was fun! My mom's girlfriend hosts the party every time and she does a great job. In the movie Bella and Edward get married, so the theme for the party was a wedding reception :)
We started out with appetizers
We then had our main course. So good!
There was a great dessert table
I made a cake for us all. It was a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.
We also had party favors to take home. My sister Leah made Oreo Truffles and Twila put them in boxes. We also all got a copy of the soundtrack
Overall, it was a great time!! I cannot wait for the last movie to come out :)
I had some leftover cake so I decided to use some leftover candy melts and make cake balls. Paul says they look like they are from The Lorax.
Love the red cake :)
That's all for now. I hope you all have a great week!

Birthday Bash!
This weekend we celebrated my nephew Tristen's 2nd birthday. It amazes me that he is already two! We went to Dave & Buster's to celebrate in their party room. I made a Cars cake.
He always goes for the frosting :)
My realtor also had a birthday. She was turning 40 this week. I had some leftover cake and decided to make her some cake pops :)
Happy Birthday Tiffany!! Hope you had a great Birthday.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

St Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patty's day everyone!
I came across these hats online one day and thought they were super cute! You can follow the original post at http://blog.hwtm.com/2012/03/diy-tutorial-leprechaun-hat-smores/
They are super easy to make. I have seen some where the whole hat is black or green. Those color variations look just as great.
You only need a few items: chocolate, green candy melts, green sprinkles, fudge stripe cookies and some marshmallows. I find generic marshmallows don't have the best form.
I first dipped the marshmallows in the chocolate and let them harden on skewers in the fridge
I also dipped the cookie to give it a uniform color
Then, dip the bottom in the green and roll in your sprinkles. Set on the cookie to dry, and voila!
Pretty fun and simple.
Hope you all had a great and safe St. Patrick's Day!

Tuscany travels :)
My mom turned 50 this weekend. She said she wanted to go to Italy/Tuscany. She never made it there, so we brought Tuscany to her :)
We rented a banquet room at the local hotel. My sister Leah was in charge of the decorating. She always does an amazing job!
She made a timeline on the sunflowers. The bigger ones are what happened in the world. The smaller ones are about my mom's life; when she was born, married and had all of us kids. What a great idea it was! So fun to look back at all the things that has happened.
I made sunflower cupcakes for the event.
I bought a stand for a wedding that I will be doing in May. I wanted to try it out and see how well it would work. I love my new stand :)
Overall, it was a great day! My uncle Tom was able to fly in from Pennsylvania. We had great food and even greater guests :) I wish my mom a wonderful 50th Birthday!! Thanks for being such a wonderful and caring mom throughout the years :) I love you.
Thanks everyone and have a great week!
